Solstice Stuff

So far the only fault I can find with my Solstice is this exposed area of the frame that holds the bearings for the lower pivot. I wish he would have wrapped the frame with the super tough black plastic you see covering the lower link itself.
The damage could probably be attributed to pore line choices as well.
I'm trying out a Cobb SHC DRT saddle. Cobb's saddles have amazed me so far. This one is no exception. Comfortable without being squishy. It also seems to offer better riding positions for climbing than the Specialized Henge that used to be on there.
This bike performs awesome up and down. It climbs up techy hills better than anything I have ridden so far, as long as you have the lungs to keep spinning.

Downhill Prep

Gage told us he wanted to race this years Sea Otter Classic. We checked into it and the only real race they have for him is the 10 and under downhill. The last month has been a crash course (pun intended) in DH. After the first run where there was lots of whining and crying he nailed 99% of this secret downhill trail on his second try. The ladders didn't even faze him.
Here he is about to roll off a baby drop. Didn't even touch the brakes.
Ashton got to go on some tamer runs down the Tower Climb at Glory Hole.
We managed to make a family ride out of it.
